Teacher / Educational Leader – Banksia Grove

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Teacher / Educational to develop programs and practices that are responsive to our children’s needs and aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standard. You will be part of our supportive culture and have access to a qualified mentor to support your professional development and growth.

 

Meet your team 

 

The centre was built in 2009 and is part of a growing community with many new homes and amenities being built, including a new high school and shopping centre. Our centre provides care and education for children from 6 weeks to five years of age. We have strong links with the local community and are looking forward to the addition of a child and parent centre that is being built in our street for families to utilise and access.
 
We have permanent educators at the centre who have been with Goodstart Banksia Grove for many years, ensuring continuity for our families and children. Our children’s individual interests and goals are the focus of our educational programs in which our educators scaffold learning through observations, experience, interest and skills.

Our centre was assessed by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) and we received an overall rating of ‘Exceeding’. This process is a National Framework, which rates all Childcare Centres across Australia against the National Quality Standards.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Assess children’s learning and development and apply pedagogical expertise to inform curriculum decisions
  • Maintain and apply expert knowledge of the National Quality Framework
  • Seek and share best practice examples to improve the education program
  • Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with families, children and the centre team
  • Model effective application of pedagogy in teaching practice
  • Contribute to a professional and positive work culture


Requirements

 

  • Hold a Bachelor of Early Childhood or equivalent qualification (ACECQA approved)
  • Hold a current Teachers Registration
  • Hold a current First Aid qualification
  • Incursions and Excursions encouraged
  • Plan innovative and engaging learning experiences
  • Champion positive and meaningful relationships with children
  • Rotating roster (negotiable)
  • Permanent Full-time in the Pre-Kindergarten room (30 children) 
  • RDO on offer
