Employment Type: Full-time permanent role (till May 2025)

Pay:  $39.28 - $40.41 p/h

Are you an experienced early learning professional who’s ready to take their career to the next level, honing leadership skills and helping to build a successful business? 

As the Assistant Director at Goodstart Barton, you will use your experience and leadership qualities to engage and motivate your centre team to drive continuous improvement in all aspects across centre operation. You will work in collaboration with your centre leadership team and establish respectful and reciprocal relationships with families and engage in networks within the centre’s local community.

 

In this role, you will: 

  • Support the Centre Director in the leadership of the team to provide high-quality early learning and care
  • Mentor and build capabilities within the centre team
  • Be responsible for the overall management of the centre in the Centre Director’s absence
  • Use and implement the Goodstart Practice Guide

 

About Goodstart Barton:

Goodstart Barton is a brand new purposely build centre, modern and spacious, was opened in 2024. Our team is like the family away from home, where we all can be our true selves, by feeling safe, secure, and comfortable. Goodstart Barton educators represent around 19 cultures, are fluent in a combined total of 20 languages with a basic understanding of 5 more. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about early childhood education and wants to make meaningful contributions to the team. We believe in nurturing a supportive team culture and are committed to providing numerous opportunities for professional development.

At Goodstart Barton we have in total 20 educators, which two are ECT’s, as well as an Admin assistant and a Centre cook.

Our centre can cater to up to 88 children each day between 5 rooms: 2 Nurseries, Toddler and 2 Preschools. We expect Assistant Director will be floating between all the room to support each of them.  This is an excellent opportunity to lead our centre team and support the wonderful community we serve.

If you have previous experience as an Assistant Director or in a centre leadership position, or similar, then we’d love to talk to you about which of our amazing opportunities would be the best fit for you.

 

You’ll need:

  • A Diploma or bachelor’s in early childhood education
  • Hold a current ACT Working with Vulnerable People Check, or be willing to obtain one
  • Experience with leading and managing change within education, health or community services
  • Experience in delivering integrated early childhood services in areas of disadvantage
  • Proven commercial acumen with financial and operational performance management
