Pay: $40.65 – $66.09 p/h (Depending on qualification & experience) + Super

As the Assistant Director at Goodstart Pacific Paradise, you'll leverage your expertise and leadership to inspire and motivate your centre team, driving continuous improvement across all areas of centre operations. Collaborate with our dedicated leadership team, forge respectful and reciprocal relationships with families, and actively engage with the local community networks.

 

In this role, you will:

 

  • Support the Centre Director in the leadership of the team to provide high-quality early learning and care
  • Mentor and build capabilities within the centre team
  • Be responsible for the overall management of the centre in the Centre Director’s absence
  • Use and implement the Goodstart Practice Guide

Our architecturally designed Goodstart Blair Athol centre offers a warm and welcoming space where curiosity is celebrated, and every child’s imagination can flourish. Featuring five thoughtfully designed learning environments. Catering to children from 6 weeks to 6 years, our passionate team delivers exceptional care and early education grounded in the principles of the Early Years Learning Framework. Every space and interaction are intentionally crafted to spark wonder, encourage exploration, and support holistic development in a safe, joyful setting.

 

  • Work in a float position in supporting the Centre Director in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the service, ensuring a high standard of care, compliance, and communication.
  • Guide, mentor, and inspire educators to deliver high-quality teaching practices aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the centre’s philosophy.
  • Encourage reflective practice, critical thinking, and continuous improvement among educators.
  • Assist with administration, enrolments, rostering, and compliance, helping the Centre Director to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

 

The Assistant Director plays a vital leadership role—not just in supporting the Centre Director, but in shaping a centre where educators thrive, families feel welcome, and children are inspired to grow.

You’ll need:

 

  • Bachelor of Early Childhood or equivalent qualification (ACECQA approved)
  • Current SA Working with Children Check and First Aid qualification
  • ECT’s in South Australia – Hold active registration with the Teachers Registration Board of South Australia (TRB SA) (applicants working towards their Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) may be able to apply for Special Authority to Teach if certain are conditions met)
