Role: Assistant Director

Are you an experienced early learning professional who’s ready to take their career to the next level, honing leadership skills and helping to build a successful business?  


As the Assistant Director, you will use your experience and leadership qualities to engage and motivate your centre team to drive continuous improvement in all aspects across centre operation. You will work in collaboration with your centre leadership team and establish respectful and reciprocal relationships with families and engage in networks within the centre’s local community. 


In this role, you will:  

  • Support the Centre Director in the leadership of the team to provide high-quality early learning and care 

  • Mentor and build capabilities within the centre team 

  • Be responsible for the overall management of the centre in the Centre Director’s absence 

  • Use and implement the Goodstart Practice Guide 


About Our Centre:

  • Location: We are ideally situated in a residential/commercial area close to community services, local schools, and shops, creating a vibrant and accessible environment.

  • Established Center: Our center has been serving the community for 12 years. It is purpose-built with six rooms, offering a range of age-specific spaces to cater to the needs of children from six weeks to five years old.

  • Kindergarten Focus: We have a unique Kindergarten room specifically designed to cater to Kindergarten-aged children.

  • Qualified Educators: Our educators are qualified early learning professionals who have a genuine passion for working with children. They provide each child with developmentally appropriate programs to support their learning and growth.

  • Early Years Learning Framework: Inside, all rooms, from Nursery to Kindergarten, are set up in line with the Early Years Learning Framework, offering sensory and play-based learning opportunities.

  • Stimulating Environment: We provide a colorful and stimulating environment that encourages sensory and play-based learning, ensuring that children are well-prepared for their transition to school.

  • Effective Communication: We prioritise open and clear communication with parents and families. Our Storypark platform, regular family nights, and emailed newsletters help us stay connected. This enables us to tailor each program to the child's individual needs, interests, and strengths, while also recognizing the strong cultural diversity in our center.

  • Outdoor Play: Our outdoor spaces are age-appropriate and designed to enhance children's awareness of their surroundings and the environment. We emphasize the importance of sustainability, with features like dry creek beds, sandpits, mud kitchens, and more.
