We’re seeking a passionate Child & Family Practitioner to join our team at Goodstart Early Learning Morwell Central.

You’ll play a vital role in supporting children with emerging or identified additional needs, working shoulder-to-shoulder with our educators and leaders to build inclusive, responsive learning environments that make every child feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.

This unique role offers the opportunity to deliver targeted, in-room support while remaining out of ratio—ensuring your strategies are embedded into everyday routines in a natural, meaningful way.

Your Impact:

As our Child & Family Practitioner, you will:

  • Collaborate closely with educators to identify individual children’s needs and tailor inclusive strategies that support learning and development.

  • Provide early identification and intervention to support children who may be experiencing vulnerability or delay.
  • Work with the Centre Director, Educational Leader, and Practice Team to strengthen team capability and ensure high-quality, inclusive learning environments.
  • Offer out-of-ratio support within the room—integrating inclusion strategies into daily routines without disrupting the child’s natural learning environment.

You’ll bring to the table:

  • Tertiary or Bachelor qualifications in early education, an allied health, social work or community services discipline (desirable).
  • Strong understanding and ability to apply attachment theory, Circle of Security (COS) and trauma informed practice.
  • Strong understanding of child development (birth - 5 years) and evidence-based trauma informed practice
  • Good understanding of relevant early childhood frameworks and standards
  • Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, communication, negotiation and coaching skills to achieve improved outcomes for children and families.
  • Ability to document, analyse and report on relevant key performance indicators.

What Goodstart can offer you:

  • Work for a company that has an aspiration to be globally recognised for early years practice and learning outcomes.
  • Gain significant investment in your growth and development with support, tools, training and experiences that will truly enhance the progress and outcomes for children in their earliest years.
  • Be a part of a team and work environment where everyone feels a sense of belonging, inclusion and purpose.
  • Access to independent professional supervision – Supporting your wellbeing through regular, confidential sessions with an external supervisor, giving you a safe space to reflect on the professional and personal impact of working in communities where trauma may be present. These sessions help build resilience, maintain emotional safety, and ensure you feel supported to continue making a difference.

  • Access to discounted childcare (up to 15%)
  • Discounted health care and access to employee wellbeing program with BUPA
