Role: Accounts Services Officer
Location: Murarrie, Brisbane (Turrbal and Jagera Lands)
Employment Type: Full time 1-year fixed term - Open to part time hours for the right candidate
The Accounts Services Officer, part of Goodstart’s Finance team leads debt management activities focusing mainly on inactive family accounts. Using systems like the Childcare Management System and SAP, the position manages payment transactions, generates invoices, and ensures financial accuracy on family statements.
Role involves high-volume customer interactions—both calls and emails—requiring strong negotiation and customer service skills to achieve tailored outcomes. Beyond debt recovery, the role supports payment applications, reconciliations, exception reports, and process improvements. Success relies on professionalism, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement and customer care.
Your Impact:
- Responsible for driving cash collection of inactive family debt. This includes negotiating payment of outstanding debts and arranging suitable payment plans.
- Achieving targeted cash collection whilst ensuing Customer service and the Goodstart brand is not blemished.
- Ensure that queries and questions from centre staff and managers are investigated and reported on in a timely manner including communication.
- Assist and support Centres with Active family debtors, including but not limited to overdue accounts, letter reminders, payment plans, advise and bad debt procedures.
- Develops and implements record keeping systems, forms, policies, and procedures related to debt collection, invoicing, processing transactions, reconciliations and other accounts services or accounts receivable activities.
- Develops and pursues payment strategies.
- Identifies and resolves problems and inconsistencies and suggests appropriate corrective procedures.
- Liaise with internal clients including managers, childcare centre directors and employees and internal staff in relation to payments and general enquiries
- Supporting the other Account Services functions if and when required

You’ll bring to the table:
Essential
- Debt recovery or collections experience.
- Experience in an Accounts Receivable or Billing environment.
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Outstanding Customer Service and communication skills.
- Basic / Intermediate excel skills.
Desirable
- Previous Early Learning Industry knowledge or experience.
- Previous experience/knowledge of SAP.
