Role: Behaviour Support Partner – Regional QLD

As a Behaviour Support Partner, you will work directly with allocated Goodstart Centres across the Cairns region, partnering with Centre Directors, Educational Leaders and Educators to enhance their knowledge and skills in positive behaviour guidance.

 

You will provide face-to-face, evidence-based coaching and professional learning to strengthen educator capability in responding to complex, trauma-related behaviours and developmental conditions.

 

Working within the Goodstart Practice Team, you will utilise established frameworks and resources including the Behaviour Support Kit, Recognition and Response Model and Quality Rating Scales to drive sustained improvement in practice.

 

Your Impact:

In this role, you will:

  • Deliver engaging professional learning aligned to the National Quality Framework
  • Implement effective coaching and mentoring strategies to build professional capability
  • Support educators to strengthen children’s social and emotional self-regulation
  • Work collaboratively with centre teams to embed sustainable quality improvements
  • Document goals and action plans to support accountability and ongoing development
  • Contribute to a child-safe, inclusive and culturally responsive environment

You’ll bring to the table:

  • Significant experience in the early childhood education and care sector.
  • Bachelor’s qualification in Early Childhood Education, Psychology, Allied Health, or related field.
  • Expertise in positive behaviour guidance, trauma‑informed practice, functional behaviour analysis and inclusive teaching strategies.
  • Demonstrated experience coaching or mentoring early childhood educators.
  • Strong understanding of the National Quality Framework and child development best practice.
  • High‑level communication and facilitation skills, with strengths in culturally responsive and context‑sensitive practice.
  • Current QLD Working with Children Check
