At Goodstart, child safety is at the heart of everything we do. As a Child Protection Partner, you'll provide office-based support to Goodstart centres across Australia, acting as a trusted advisor on child protection and safeguarding matters. Working primarily via phone, email and internal systems, you'll guide centre teams through complex situations, coordinate reporting and investigations, and collaborate closely with our Child Protection Specialists to ensure more complex matters are escalated and managed appropriately.

Your Impact
- Provide office-based support to centres across Australia, responding to safeguarding and child protection enquiries via phone, email and internal systems.
- Be the first point of contact for centre teams seeking advice on child protection concerns and reporting obligations.
- Support centres to manage safeguarding concerns, allegations and potentially harmful situations involving children in line with legislation and organisational policy.
- Triage matters, provide guidance and coordinate appropriate reporting, investigations, risk mitigation and follow-up actions, escalating complex matters to the Child Protection Specialist team where required.
- Prepare incident notifications, regulatory reporting and case documentation, ensuring accurate records are maintained.
- Coach and support centre leaders to confidently identify, respond to and manage child protection matters.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders and external agencies to ensure consistent safeguarding practices across the organisation.
- Manage multiple complex matters simultaneously while maintaining accuracy, professionalism and a strong sense of urgency.

You'll bring to the table
- Previous experience in child protection, safeguarding, investigations, case management or issues management.
- Previous leadership or management experience within an Early Childhood Education and Care setting will be highly regarded.
- Knowledge of mandatory reporting obligations, the Education and Care National Law, or other child protection legislation, or the ability to quickly build this knowledge.
- Strong communication skills, with the confidence to provide guidance and support to centre leaders navigating sensitive situations.
- The resilience to manage complex and sometimes confrontational matters professionally, remaining objective and following process without bias.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise competing matters and respond with urgency in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and confidence maintaining accurate case records, documentation and reporting.
- A collaborative mindset, with a willingness to receive and apply both positive and constructive feedback to continuously improve.
- Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain one).
