Role: First Nations Project Coordinator

About the Role

Internally this role is titled as "First Nations Cultural Delivery Specialist" which supports the delivery of Goodstart’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural learning programs through-quality coordination, administration and participant engagement.

 

Working closely with the First Nations team, you'll coordinate program logistics, manage communications with participants, maintain resources and documentation, and help ensure cultural learning experiences run smoothly across the organisation.

 

This is an opportunity for an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person who is passionate about early childhood, and sharing First Nations culture, enjoys coordinating moving parts, and wants to support meaningful workplace learning in a practical, hands-on capacity.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Coordinate program logistics including scheduling sessions, booking venues, managing participant registrations and preparing materials
  • Manage communications with program participants, including reminders, updates and post-session follow-up
  • Support the facilitation of cultural learning sessions by preparing materials, taking notes and assisting with participant engagement
  • Maintain and organise program resources, templates and content in shared systems
  • Coordinate with local Cultural Liaisons to support the planning of cultural connection activities
  • Track program attendance, collect participant feedback and assist with reporting requirements
  • Manage the First Nations team inbox, responding to queries and triaging requests appropriately
  • Update intranet content and maintain accessible resource libraries for staff
  • Provide general administrative support to the First Nations team including meeting coordination, document preparation and file management

Essential:

  • You are Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander (identified position).
  • Lived/living experience in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways of knowing, doing and being
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple activities
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office, email, and basic online systems
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Current QLD Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain)

Desirable:

  • Experience in event coordination, program administration, or project support
  • Experience in community engagement or working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island communities
  • Familiarity with workplace learning and development programs
  • Relevant certificate or diploma qualifications
