Role: Payroll Manager

Location: Murarrie, Brisbane Hybrid options available (2 days at our Murarrie Centre Support Office, remainder WFH)

Be part of something new! This newly created Payroll Manager role offers an exciting opportunity to shape and lead a best-practice payroll function at Goodstart Early Learning.

 

Working closely with the Employee Services Manager, you’ll establish strong foundations for an efficient, compliant, and future-ready payroll service that supports our people across the country.

 

Your Impact:

As a key leader within our Employee Services function, you will:

  • Lead a high-performing payroll team to deliver accurate, timely, and compliant payroll services for all employees
  • Optimise payroll operations, processes, and systems to meet business needs and enhance efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, industrial instruments, and internal policies while proactively managing risks and internal controls
  • Partner with leaders across Goodstart to provide expert payroll advice and support on pay-related matters
  • Drive improvement, innovation, and capability uplift to meet future operational demands and deliver exceptional service outcomes

You’ll bring to the table:

Essential:

  • Proven leadership experience managing a large payroll team in a complex, high-volume environment
  • Minimum 10 years’ payroll experience, including large, multi-site organisations
  • Strong understanding of payroll legislation, awards, EBAs, superannuation, and taxation
  • Demonstrated experience with S4 SAP Payroll and SuccessFactors
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Proven ability to lead performance, coach teams, and build capability
  • Current QLD Working with Children Check

Desirable:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Accounting, HR, or a related discipline
  • Experience with Workforce Dimensions or similar time and attendance systems
