Lead Strategic Delivery at Scale – Portfolio Delivery Lead!

 

 

About the role:

We’re looking for a strategic and results-driven Portfolio Delivery Lead to shape how Goodstart delivers its most important initiatives. Reporting to the Head of Enterprise PMO, you’ll lead a team of 5-10 Project Managers and oversee a diverse portfolio of business transformation, ICT, and operational improvement projects. You’ll guide them to deliver high-impact projects on time, within scope, and aligned to Goodstart’s purpose and organisational priorities.

 

You’ll partner closely with executive sponsors, business leaders, and cross-functional teams to bring clarity, structure, and confidence to the delivery of strategic programs. This is an ideal opportunity for a delivery-focused leader who can balance big-picture thinking with hands-on oversight in a dynamic, values-driven environment.  

 

Your Impact:

  • Lead the delivery of a complex, enterprise-wide portfolio of strategic initiatives
  • Ensure strong governance, quality and compliance with the project management framework across all projects
  • Drive portfolio-level planning, resourcing, and prioritisation to optimise outcomes
  • Oversee integrated project planning, scope clarity, scheduling, and milestone management across the portfolio
  • Lead benefits realisation planning and monitoring to ensure clear, measurable outcomes
  • Manage portfolio risks, issues, dependencies, and financial performance with a proactive and strategic lens
  • Oversee change control processes and deliver timely escalation, impact assessment, and corrective action
  • Champion effective stakeholder engagement and communication across the executive and delivery landscape
  • Build a strong, trust-based relationship with senior leaders to support decision-making and alignment
  • Mentor, coach and uplift project delivery capability across the organisation
  • Ensure consistent use of tools, templates, and methodologies to enhance delivery maturity.

You’ll bring to the table:

 

  • 5+ years’ leadership experience across project, program or portfolio delivery
  • Strong understanding of project governance, planning and delivery frameworks (eg: PMBOK, PRINCE2, Agile)
  • Proven ability to manage complex, multi-project environments
  • Solid financial, risk, dependency and benefits management skills
  • Confident leader and coach with strong stakeholder influence
  • Skilled in tools like Monday.com, PMO365, MS Project, Jira and Power BI
  • Current QLD Working with Children Check

Desirable:

  • Tertiary qualifications in project management or degree level or equivalent
  • Experience in change management capability
  • Understanding of EPMO and enterprise portfolio practices
