Role: Regulatory Assurance Officer
Location: Murarrie, QLD (Turrbal and Yuggera peoples)
Employment Type: Full Time, 6-month Fixed term contract
At Goodstart, children’s safety, wellbeing and quality early learning are at the heart of everything we do. As a Regulatory Assurance Officer, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our centres to confidently navigate significant national and state regulatory reforms.
This role goes beyond compliance checking — it’s about partnering with centre teams, providing real-time coaching, and strengthening organisational readiness so new legislative requirements are understood, embedded and sustained in practice. You’ll work closely with the Regulatory Reform Project Team to identify emerging risks, share insights, and help shape practical tools and supports that enable our centres to thrive in a changing regulatory landscape.
Your Impact:
In this role, you will:
- Deliver scheduled and targeted regulatory assurance audits across Goodstart centres
- Identify compliance gaps and practical barriers to implementing new legislative requirements
- Provide in-the-moment coaching to centre teams to build understanding and capability
- Validate centre readiness for major reforms, including child safety reforms, digital device restrictions, mandatory training and educator register implementation
- Escalate emerging risks and systemic issues to the Regulatory Reform Project Team
- Contribute insights that inform the development of implementation tools, resources and training
- Collaborate with Operations, Quality and People & Culture teams to ensure aligned and consistent reform messaging

You’ll bring to the table:
- Experience in an administrative, compliance, auditing or customer service–focused role, with a strong commitment to high-quality service delivery
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage confidently and respectfully with diverse stakeholders
- High attention to detail, sound judgement and a strong commitment to data integrity and confidentiality
- Self-motivated, organised and able to work independently while managing competing priorities
- Experience undertaking outbound communication and proactive follow-ups
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
- Current Working with Children Check for the State or Territory residing
Desirable:
- Qualifications in early childhood, compliance, auditing, law or a related field
- Experience in education and care regulatory compliance, quality assurance or audit activities
- Understanding of early learning centre operations and the practical realities of implementing regulatory reform
