As a Senior Educator at Goodstart, you'll take charge of your own room, leading a team of dedicated Educators to deliver exceptional educational programs. You'll collaborate with the Centre Leadership Team and the Educational Leader to observe, inform, and continuously improve our teaching practices. Your commitment to safety and inclusivity ensures that every learning experience is tailored to meet the needs of all children. 

 

About Goodstart Port Kennedy: 

Goodstart Early Learning Port Kennedy is located across the road from Rockingham Lakes Primary School.  

Our service caters for children from four months to five years of age. We are committed to providing our children with a loving, nurturing and rich learning environment to promote their growth and development. We are proud to say we have a very multicultural family and educator base, and we welcome all cultures through the doors of our centre.

Our centre has a reputation for long-standing educators, and some of our team members have been with us for over a decade. We are dedicated to providing high quality programming based on the Early Years Learning Framework.

Our centre was assessed by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority and we received an overall rating of ‘Exceeding’. This process is a National Framework, which rates all Childcare Centres across Australia against the National Quality Standards.

We have an open-door policy to breastfeeding. We have a breastfeeding area in our cot room and Nursery room, offering the chance for breastfeeding mothers to come back throughout the day to feed their child. 

Meals are provided and our onsite qualified cook creates fresh and nutritious food daily, catering for all dietary requirements.

Several of our educators are bi- or multi-lingual, and share their native languages with the children as well as extending the hand of familiarity to children from similar backgrounds, promoting a sense of self and belonging.

Outside, we have an abundance of space and equipment for the children to explore. Our veggie patches, bike areas, sandpits, natural and manmade play surfaces, and age-appropriate equipment will stoke the children’s imaginations while challenging them and encouraging them to grow.

We emphasise the importance of communication, and provide weekly emails detailing centre goings-on and upcoming events. Each of our rooms contains a whiteboard which our educators use to communicate learning programs and daily run-plans, and we also provide learning stories, portfolios and written information for each child. We take the extra effort to personally speak to parents and carers as they enter and exit the centre every day.

We use Storypark to share your child's learning. This industry leading program lets you see the learning experiences of your child and allows you to interact with educators to enable real connections between what your child learns at Goodstart Port Kennedy and what happens at home. We can tailor each program to the child’s individual needs, interests and strengths – as well as the strong level of cultural diversity in our centre.

You’ll need: 

  • Diploma in Early Childhood (or ACECQA approved equivalent) 

  • Strong knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standards 

  • Current Western Australia Working with Children Check
