Role: Funding & Grants Administrator – VIC/TAS

Location: Port Melbourne, VIC

Employment Type: Full-time, 8mth Fixed Term Contract (Parental Leave Cover)

 

As part of Goodstart’s Centre Support Team, you’ll play an important role in supporting our centres to deliver strong, high-quality kindergarten programs. This internal opportunity gives you the chance to use your expertise to strengthen how we manage State Government Kindergarten funding and grants across the organisation.

Step into the role of Funding & Grants Administrator and lead the end-to-end coordination of State-based grants — from application through to acquittal. Your work will ensure our centres are well-supported to access and utilise funding effectively, enabling consistent and high-quality program delivery.

Your Impact:

In this role, you will coordinate the evaluation and monitoring of grant-funded initiatives, write and support grant applications, and manage acquittals, including maintaining master files and completing all associated budget and reporting requirements. You’ll identify new funding opportunities, prepare business cases, and oversee the full lifecycle of grants to ensure compliance with guidelines and audit obligations. You will keep internal stakeholders informed at every stage, build subject matter expertise on State and Federal funding processes, and maintain strong working relationships with government partners. You will also collaborate closely with teams across Goodstart to support and guide funding applications, helping ensure our kindergarten programs continue to be delivered with quality, consistency, and accountability.

You’ll bring to the table:

  • Experience preparing or supporting government grant applications, or strong knowledge of grants administration processes
  • Solid financial acumen, including experience working with budgets and reporting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor information for diverse audiences
  • Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office programs and internal systems
  • Effective time management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Experience in an early childhood or centre operations environment
