Role: Inclusion Specialist            

Location: Melbourne – VIC North

Employment Type: Part time 0.4 FTE 12-Months fixed term

 

An Inclusion Specialist is accountable to the National Lead Inclusion Operations for delivering targeted support and engaging intensive support to children identified as experiencing vulnerability and who require additional support in line with Goodstart’s Recognition & Response Model to achieve the outcomes they need to be successful in their learning and development.

Your Impact:

  • Support a strategic approach to meeting the objectives of the program for Teacher Accreditation and Registration, building strong internal relationships and embedding critical activities in cross-functional strategies and initiatives.
  • Advocate for and contribute to the delivery of measurable results in inclusive practice uplift
  • Contribute to data capture in the relevant Goodstart platform that demonstrates timely and responsive service delivery to children who require targeted and intensive support
  • Continuously improve the Teaching, Learning and Support Expert Service to ensure it is meeting the needs of our centre-based teams, children, and families
  • In collaboration with the National Teaching Learning and Support Team and Operations, deliver Goodstart’s vision in respect of teaching, learning and support aligned with Goodstart’s strategic direction along with agreed enterprise KPIs and measures of success.
  • Adhere to and champion Child Safe Organisation requirements
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of relevant Child Protection Laws applicable to the jurisdiction and proactive response to child protection matters.

You’ll bring to the table:

Essential:

  • Tertiary qualifications in an early childhood education and/or health or welfare related discipline.
  • Experience in leading change and delivering inclusive services in an education or health care setting.
  • Experience at a senior management level in an early childhood education or health care setting.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of community and government networks/ resources and proven skill in utilising these to develop partnerships, services and programs.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of policies, frameworks and funding supports for children and families including the Early Years Learning Framework v2, National Quality Standard, Commonwealth and State Inclusion Support Programs, National Disability Insurance Scheme and relevant state-based funding (e.g School Readiness Funding, Start Strong, Kindy Uplift).
  • A current and valid Working with Children Check/Police Clearance in accordance with relevant State or Territory legislation.

 

Desirable:

  • Qualifications at graduate or post-graduate level specialising in inclusive practice
  • Exposure to and confidence operating within government regulated and legislative operational environments.
  • Experience in successfully managing complex projects.
  • Experience developing, implementing and evaluating strategic plans.
