Role: State Performance Lead

Location: Victoria West & Tasmania - covering from Mildura- swan Hill- Horsham, Dennington, plus a mix of centre in the heart of the west

Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time

 

We’re inviting expressions of interest for the State Performance Lead role in Victoria West & Tasmania.

 

In this role, you’ll work closely with the State Manager to support strong, consistent leadership across the state – ensuring every centre has a confident, capable Centre Director at the helm, every day.

 

You’ll have a state-wide lens on centre performance, bringing together insights across centres while recognising the unique context of each service. You'll also take on direct line management and performance responsibilities for a group of Centre Directors, as assigned by the State Manager.

 

As a trusted partner to Centre Directors, you’ll play a critical role in helping them thrive – guiding them to become empowered, informed, and adaptive leaders who can drive high-quality outcomes for children, families, and teams.

Your Impact:

In this vital role, you’ll:

  • Empower Centre Directors and teams to uplift performance
  • Understand each centre’s KPIs and capability needs
  • Simplify or remove ineffective management processes
  • Monitor performance using data, observations, and insights
  • Collaborate with the State Support Team to align support with centre needs
  • Work with expert services to uphold Goodstart’s 2025 standards
  • Assist the State Manager with succession planning for Centre Directors
  • Ensure centres have effective Quality Improvement Plans (QIPs) and philosophies

You’ll bring to the table:

  • Demonstrated ability to strategically think, collaborate and coordinate across state and national functions and the ability to navigate complexity, competing priorities and constantly changing situations and needs. 
  • Being a dynamic individual adept at supporting and surpassing KPIs, while navigating through various centres, each with distinct capabilities and operational landscapes.
  • A sound knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Framework (NQF).
  • Qualifications in a Business, Teaching or Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) discipline would be beneficial, but not essential.
  • Strong business acumen across all domains of centre performance
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate existing knowledge, analyse data and formulate strategies to improve current performance
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, lead and nurture high performing teams
  • Valid VIC Working with Children Check Card
  • Current National Police Clearance
  • Current Open Driving License
