We’re looking for an enthusiastic Teacher to develop programs and practices that are responsive to our children’s needs and aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standard. You will be part of our supportive culture and have access to a qualified mentor to support your professional development and growth.

 

Our centre

 

Goodstart Thornlie is a high-quality centre with warm and friendly educators, located on a cul-de-sac in a convenient pocket of town, close to schools, shops and community facilities. We offer our children the opportunity to experience activities in a wide range of areas including science, maths, computers, art & craft and physical skills. We promote gender equality and cultural diversity in all aspects of our programming. All children are treated as individuals with unique personalities as we support them to grow and learn at their own pace.

 

Our centre is currently  seeking an Early Childhood Teacher to run our Kindergarten program. We are fortunate to have many multi-lingual educators who share their language and culture within the centre and we are strong advocates of cultural diversity and inclusion. 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Assess children’s learning and development and apply pedagogical expertise to inform curriculum decisions
  • Maintain and apply expert knowledge of the National Quality Framework
  • Seek and share best practice examples to improve the education program
  • Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with families, children and the centre team
  • Model effective application of pedagogy in teaching practice
  • Contribute to a professional and positive work culture


Requirements

 

  • Hold a Bachelor of Early Childhood or equivalent qualification (ACECQA approved)
  • Hold a current TRBWA Registration
  • Hold a current First Aid qualification
  • Full time, permanent position commencing immediately
  • The role will be based in the Kindergarten room
  • Rostered shift between 6.30am to 6pm  
  • Centre is running an indoor/outdoor program
  • Plan innovative and engaging learning experiences
  • Champion positive and meaningful relationships with children
