Located in the heart of Somerset Park, Thornton, our 64-place centre is a vibrant hub for children aged six weeks to school age. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality education and care through a curriculum that follows the Early Years Learning Framework, led by our team of qualified and experienced educators.
At Goodstart Thornton, we embrace the power of play as an essential tool for learning, growth, and development. Our holistic approach focuses on literacy, STEM, and social-emotional learning, ensuring children are equipped for success in their academic and personal journeys.
We foster strong relationships through our key educator approach, supporting children and their families as they transition from preschool to school. Our partnerships with local schools and a comprehensive preschool program provide continuity and confidence for this critical milestone.
Our outdoor play spaces invite children to connect with nature, explore sustainability, and engage in hands-on activities like tending to our worm farm and veggie patches. Meals are prepared on-site by our qualified chef, offering nutritious and delicious options daily.
Family involvement is at the heart of what we do. Through our Storypark platform and collaborative partnerships, we ensure open communication and meaningful engagement with families. We celebrate diversity and inclusivity, creating a culturally rich environment where everyone feels valued and a sense of belonging.

Meet our Centre Director:
Hello, my name is Katie, and I am the Centre Director at Goodstart Early Learning Thornton.
Since leaving the UK in 2007 to start a new life in Australia, I was lucky enough to begin my journey at Goodstart Thornton as a Senior Educator.
I've been with Goodstart Early Learning for over 16 years. In my time with Goodstart, I've also been given opportunities to be an Educational Leader, 2IC and most recently an Assistant Director.
I believe that all children have the right to play, learn and grow in a safe, secure, nurturing and stimulating environment. As the famous child psychologist Jean Piaget once said, 'Play is the work of children'.
Every child comes into the world seeking a secure relationship with their caregivers. Many years of research has proven the importance of positive attachments such as the Circle of Security. Secure attachments with primary caregivers create a child who is happier, healthier and ready to learn about the world around them.
I also believe that every child has the right to feel a sense of belonging, to be included and be a part of each unique community. For every child to have access to participate meaningfully in and experience positive outcomes within our service.
Look forward to meeting you and introducing you to my wonderful team!
