Company: Goodstart Early Learning

Goodstart is Australia’s largest early learning provider.  As a not–for–profit social enterprise, we exist purely to improve the lives of Australia’s children and their families. Our people are our foundation, together we are working to ensure children have the learning, development and wellbeing outcomes they need for school and life.

Goodstart has partnered with City of Sydney to open Waranara Early learning. The centre is an architect design early childhood centre with beautiful indoor spaces that flow to outside to encourage indoor/outdoor play.

Waranara Early Education Centre acknowledge the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation as the traditional custodians of the land and pay our respects to Elders both past and present. Beyond the physical structure of our beautiful centre, we recognise the importance of the history and culture of the Gadigal land on which we work, seek, flourish and learn.

In beginning our journey, we honour each child and family as unique individuals who bring with them a depth of knowledge, experience, culture and history. We also recognise that at the heart of Waranara, our image of the child is as capable, resourceful and competent beings, deserving of trust and respect.

Together with our commitment to research and constant reflection as early childhood professionals, recognising this unique contribution of relationship building only enrichens our Waranara community further. The shared expertise, knowledge, ideas and strengths between families and educators form this collaborative partnership. As it is through this interwoven relationship of child, family and eductors that an intricate foundation of community is formed at Waranara.

We therefore reflect on our namesake Waranara, meaning ‘to seek’, and recognise our philosophy as a living document. Over the coming months as we embark on our journey to nurture a deep connection through relationship we seek to collaborate as a community to further evolve our Waranara philosophy.
